Thanksgiving

Glorious Ontario Autumn
I just realised that this week is Thanksgiving for my American friends & family - Canadians celebrate the holiday in mid-October, and it's more like a harvest festival.

Each year I cook a traditional Canadian Thanksgiving meal for my friends here in the UK, and it usually goes down a storm, with a 50% success rate on the pumpkin pie (I love it, but it's like marmite, you either love it or hate it).

What I like especially about Thanksgiving is the simplicity of it - just the meal and friends/family and an opportunity to reflect on our many blessings. In these times of over-reported doom and gloom (and my heart goes out to those in trouble near and far) I feel very thankful for all the good things in my life - good friends, loving family, health, home and happiness, Angelina Fibres, Heathway Crewel Wools, Pearsall Silks, Irish linen, Dupion silk fabric, seed and bugle beads.....

Happy Thanksgiving one and all! Here's to another year of blessings and fun... Kx
